Lower Upham Airfield Flying Experiences
Nestled in the heart of the Hampshire hills is Lower Upham Airfield, close to the town of Bishops Waltham, not far from Southampton and Winchester. With a flying school established here for more than 30 years, it is one of the best airfields in the region for anybody who wants to learn to fly, or brush up on their skills in the skies.
Used by light aircraft and microlight enthusiasts alike, it’s a great airfield for complete beginners, or those who fancy a more laid back, less crowded area to fly in and out of. With stunning views over Hampshire, it offers plenty in the realm of scenic views and provides pleasant flying conditions. This region is in fact, known for its picturesque landscape which can be conveniently enjoyed from the air.
Flying Lessons
There’s no better way to learn the art of flying than with a Light Sport Flying Lesson over a scenic area of the country. Luckily, at Lower Upham Airfield there are plenty of lessons available where you can get familiar with these mighty aircraft alongside a team of passionate instructors. If you’re used to flying and want to take a traditional lesson, there are plenty available here, or if it's your first time, they even do a trial flying lesson which is less than the usual flight time, but gives you the opportunity to take the controls as much as you like whilst being alongside a trained instructor. If you’re looking for a more adventurous flight and a way to explore a new area, Lower Upham even offers a landaway flight where you can fly into another nearby airfield and with a delightful break with refreshments provided before you work your way back. This gives you a real insight into the routine of a pilot between take off and landing, but also gives you the chance to stretch your legs and explore somewhere nearby.

Terms and Conditions for Lower Upham Airfield
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
