Hosted by an expert flight training school and club, this stunning location offers the perfect setting to take to the skies in one of these exhilarating light sport aircraft. Ideal for those eager to explore the beauty of Herefordshire from above, you’ll soar off from Shobdon in either an open or closed cockpit microlight and make your way to a nearby airfield, such as Welshpool, Halfpenny Green, or Broad Farm. Upon landing, take a moment to relax and enjoy a tea or coffee at the cozy club house café before hopping back in the microlight for your return journey. Once back at Shobdon, you’ll have the chance to visit the on-site café and soak in the exciting aviation atmosphere, with a front-row view of parachuting, gliding, helicopters, and light aircraft taking off and landing. For those wanting to extend the adventure, there's a charming campsite and caravan park nestled beside the aerodromes picturesque cider apple orchards, making it the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or simply looking for a scenic escape, this microlight experience offers a unique perspective of the Herefordshire countryside.

- Two hour Experience in a fixed-wing or flex-winged microlight
- Warm welcome and introduction
- Comprehensive Pre-flight briefing with an introduction to the basic principles
- Fly over local sights such as Clee Hill or the Welsh Hills
- Chance to take the controls during your flight
- Flying suit, helmet and gloves are provided when opting for the flex wing
- Fly to another airfield (generally Welshpool, Halfpenny Green or Broad Meadow Farm and Over Farm)
- Land and have a spot of tea before heading back to Shobdon

- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Available weekdays and weekends throughout the year
- Flights are subject to availability and weather conditions
- Participants should telephone on the morning of their flight to confirm conditions are suitable
Minimum Age: 14 years

- Spectators are more than welcome to come along and watch both take off and landing
- Bring along a camera for some wonderful photo opportunities (must have a suitable lanyard on your camera)
- Only one person may take the flight
