About the experience
Experience the rich industrial heritage of England from a completely new vantage point on the Ironbridge Gorge and Severn Valley Tour by helicopter! Departing from the ex-RAF base at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport, you'll soon find yourself hovering above some of Shropshire's most famous landmarks, meticulously preserved to narrate the tale of the Industrial Revolution. The highlight of the tour is the iconic 60m Iron Bridge, a magnificent structure that spans the River Severn in the village of Ironbridge near Coalbrookdale. This bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was the first arched bridge made from locally cast iron and was officially opened in 1787. Witnessing the bridge from the air offers a truly awe-inspiring sight. Your helicopter tour also encompasses other significant landmarks managed by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, including the brick kilns, the Blists Hill open-air museum, and the Hay Incline Plane on the Shropshire Canal. Additionally, you'll soar over Bridgnorth with its ruined castle and funicular railway, glide over the 2634-hectare Wyre Forest, and pass above the National Trust-owned Kinver Edge, a wooded escarpment that was once home to two Iron Age hill forts. As the tour concludes, you'll be taken back to base via the Clee Hills, the highest peaks in the county, the renowned West Midlands Safari Park, and Kidderminster.

- If as a party of one you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly however you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either have to remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual as long as the combined total as listed above is not exceeded
