Your pilot will guide you as the tension builds, letting you know when to look left or right as the Spitfire gracefully swoops alongside your aircraft. The sight of the formidable Spitfire will leave you breathless, seemingly within arm's reach. Both Headcorn (Lashenden) and North Weald are former RAF air bases with rich histories. Headcorn saw hundreds of missions flown by Spitfires and Mustangs during the height of the war between 1942 and 1943, and today it houses a fascinating wartime museum. North Weald has a history dating back to 1916, witnessing the evolution of aircraft from WW1 planes to Cold War jet fighters, with stunning views of London. Flying alongside a Spitfire will take you through the very skies that bore witness to countless dogfights during the Battle of Britain. Imagining the intense aerial battles with Spitfires and Hurricanes defending the British shores against the Luftwaffe's Messerschmitts adds a profound appreciation for these treasured sorties. - At no point do you fly in the Spitfire
- Participants should allow for a whole day for the experience 9am-7pm, experiences generally last half a day and this is a precaution to allow for weather conditions
