About the experience

As well as the iconic Spitfire, the Tiger Moth Biplane has become a symbol of World War 2 as it was used by the RAF as a trainer aircraft. Being bold, bright and colourful, it’s a visually appealing plane and definitely one to experience firsthand if you’re a fan of aviation history. Here, at North Weald nested in the Essex countryside not far from Epping, you’ll be able to do just that in these 60 Minute Tiger Moth flights. Not only will you experience this vintage Biplane, but soak up the history that’s on offer at North Weald itself. First created as an RAF base in 1916, this venue was used as a fighter base in WW2 and beyond, and it’s hard to not get lost in the history this place has witnessed throughout the years. As soon as you arrive here, you’ll be greeted by a passionate Tiger Moth pilot who will introduce you to these wonderful aircrafts and show you the controls. After all, this experience isn’t just about admiring the aircraft as a spectacle, but also providing you with the opportunity to have a go at the controls yourself, once your pilot has mastered take off and you are swiftly cruising through the air over Essex.
