Experience life through the eyes of an RAF fighter jet pilot with this realistic session in a simulator. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to fly one of these powerful jets and experience how they soar through the sky at remarkable speeds with eye watering twists and turns, this is the best place to start. Fully equipped with detailed visuals, surround sound and hydraulic motion, this sim puts you at the centre of every mission as you experience every bump in the road and learn your way through the controls. If you do decide on this thrilling sim session, you’ll even be equipped with RAF fighter jet uniforms and a ‘bone drome’ flying helmet so you can fully feel the part. These sim sessions are programmed with a range of missions for you to explore, as you work your way through the controls and build up confidence with navigating this powerful jet simulator. After your session finishes, you’ll soon have a renewed appreciation for these RAF F-4 phantom jets and the clever pilots who fly them. Whatever type of mission you choose to fly, you’re bound to make long lasting memories with this sim session which will help form your love of flying forever.
- A McDonnell Douglas F4 simulator
- Uses an ex-operational military Phantom

- Take the controls of an ex RAF F-4 Phantom simulator with its original cockpit and fully functional instruments
- Fly a mission under the guidance of an experienced instructor sitting alongside the cockpit
- 25 minute pre-flight briefing
- Climb into the ejector seat of the front cockpit and take the controls for the duration of your chosen flight time
- The simulator boasts detailed visual systems, surround sound and hydraulic motion to recreate a realistic flying experience
- De-brief and presentation of a personalised souvenir certificates
- Sessions can usually be tailored to existing flying ability so it doesn't matter if you have never flown before or are an experienced pilot
- 20 minute flights will give you a real taste of the controls
- Longer flights will allow a wider range of situations to be simulated e.g. a 60 minute flight provides enough time to experience day and night landings, aircraft carrier landings, bad weather, air turbulence and even in-flight emergencies
- Opt for the 'Duo' session to share the fun with a friend and receive 30 minutes of flying time each

- Good, general mobility is required for this experience
- Not suitable for those who suffer from claustrophobia, motion sickness, epilepsy, those with restricted mobility or with a nervous disposition

- Mondays to Sundays throughout the year (excluding Bank Holidays)
- Sessions are generally available between 09:00 and 19:00, 10:00-17:00 on Sundays
- Dates are subject to availability
- Guests are welcome but cannot view the activity, take photos or ride onboard the simulator
- There is a comfortable lounge area with complimentary tea and coffee
- An A4 photograph of the experience can be provided by the venue for a fee of £15 payable on the day
