About the experience
Get your flying shoes on as you take on a lesson with this friendly crew of pilots from Sibson Airfield in Peterborough. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of the friendly instructors and be wept under their wing as you are shown an extensive set of safety procedures and a pre flight briefing before you even take a step in the aircraft you’ll be learning to fly - the Piper Cherokee PA28. Although you’ll probably be quaking in your boots to get into this aircraft and cruising over the skies of the East of England, just like with the thousands of flights that take of everyday, the prior checks are essential for a safe and comfortable journey and this lesson isn’t exempt from that. but now for the fun part. Whether you’ve flown before and are working towards your pilot licence, or you’ve never stepped foot in a cockpit before, these lessons can be tailored to your experience and what you want to achieve. If you simply want to have a go with the controls whilst enjoying the landscape that follows the gradual bend of the River Nene, or a more serious about clocking up the hours and becoming a fully trained pilot, the possibilities are endless. After your exhilarating flight has come to an end, you’ll receive a Flight Certificate as a memento of your time in this remarkable Peterborough Airfield. So what are you waiting for? - Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to weather conditions and availability
- Although time slots are allocated please be aware that aircraft lessons are subject to a number of factors which may potentially cause delay to your scheduled time
- Whilst every effort will be made to help keep you on time you'll need to allow for a degree of latitude owing to the nature of flying, air traffic delays and weather
- Spectators are welcome to attend and watch participants in flight with plenty of great photo opportunities
- Participants of the four seater experiences are allowed to bring an interested observer (min age 14) who can observe the lesson from the rear seat (at the discretion of the flight instructor and subject to weather conditions)
