About the experience
Our exceptional Peterborough gliding experiences provide the exhilarating sensation of speed and tranquillity! Experience the freedom of powerless flight as you gracefully glide above the picturesque Peterborough and Cambridgeshire countryside. Established at St Guthlac's Lodge near Crowland in the early 1980s, our Peterborough centre is dedicated to offering a welcoming environment for our members and visitors to unwind, connect with like-minded individuals, and, of course, glide. Despite its small size, the centre is meticulously organized, with a dedicated duty pilot, ground crew team, and tug team all prepared to assist you in taking you to the skies for your first lesson. Under the guidance of Chief Flying Instructor Ross Morriss and his team, you will be introduced to one of the modern two-seater trainer gliders based in Peterborough, such as the Puchacz or Twin Astir models. As the craft is readied for launch, you will be shown around and briefed on the experience. Once securely strapped in, the rope is attached to the tug aircraft, and you ascend into the sky. From that moment on, it's just you, the pilot instructor, and the glider as you soar through the air. It may take a few moments to acclimate to the absence of motorized noise, but soon you'll eagerly embrace the thrill of seeking 'thermals' and witness the Peterborough landscape grow smaller as your glider continues its ascent.

- Minimum age 14
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Maximum height 6ft 4ins
- Maximum weight 16 stone
- It will not be possible for you to fly if you suffer from epilepsy, fainting or certain physical or mental disabilities
- Weekends and throughout the year, subject to availability and weather conditions
- Flights are generally less frequent during the winter months

Maximum Height: 193.04 cm
Maximum Weight: 101.60 kg
- Wear flat-soled shoes and bring a jumper in case it gets cold at high altitudes
- Sunglasses are recommended
- Spectators are welcome
- A camera or a pair of binoculars will come in handy
