V1 Flight Experience
Newly added to our list of airfields in Oxfordshire is V1 Flight. This small but friendly airfield is based near the village of East Hanney, located about 5 miles south west of the larger Abingdon Airfield. It is easily accessible from and positioned between Oxford to the north and Newbury to the south via the A34.
Its quiet and secluded countryside setting and relaxed atmosphere, with three grass runways and helpful, knowledgeable pilots, makes it the ideal location for those looking to get started with learning to fly in aeroplanes or microlights in this part of the South East of England.
Aeroplane Flying Lessons at V1 Flight
Our nationwide flying lesson packages in a two-seater, light training aeroplane such as a Piper or Cessna is available to book from V1 Flight. Session lengths that can be booked are 30 minutes or 60 minutes.
You'll be learning under a qualified instructor pilot, and all lessons are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) - so the good news is that these will count towards your hours of flight training required to achieve your Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) if you decide to carry on, but it's equally good to book these lessons as a trial as well.
Microlighting at V1 Flight
You can also get a taste of flying a fixed-wing CT microlight on the 30 Minute Microlighting Session that's available to book at V1 Flight. A fantastic, ultra-light and sporty aircraft that can boast speeds of 170 mph, it's the ideal flying machine for beginners to learn from.
On your flight, you'll also take in some instantly recognisable landmarks from the air, including the famous Uffington White Horse and Dragon Hill, and the opportunity to take the controls under the guidance of your pilot instructor.
Pleasure Flights from V1 Flight
Of course, if you fancy venturing further afield in the skies, then there's a couple of exciting two-seater aircraft pleasure flights which include a flying lesson on offer as well. The Oxford to Henley Thames Flying Experience will take off and soar over Oxford's famous Dreaming Spires, following the River Thames to the Wittenham Clumps and over the Chilterns to Henley.
Or why not make a day of it with a flying lesson included and head to the Isle of Wight, where you'll also get to enjoy a pub lunch on the island before you head back to base? Wherever you go for an aerial adventure from Oxfordshire, the possibilities are endless!
Terms and Conditions for V1 Flight Oxfordshire
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
