Shotton Airfield Experiences
Information about Shotton Airfield:
Shotton Airfield is situated on the edge of Peterlee. It is the only skydiving school in the North East, attracting thousands of daredevil visitors from the Durham area and beyond every year. Skydiving at Durham is scheduled on midweek and weekend/bank holiday dates from mid-February to the third weekend in November, weather permitting. The majority of tandem skydivers get to train and jump on the same day. It's also worth noting that this Durham skydiving school offers free overnight camping and caravanning on the airfield.
It features a 760m long grass runway and a 550m long tarmac section that is 7m wide. The amenities include hangarage, Avgas and Jet A1 fuel, an Aero Sports Club with a licensed bar, bunkhouse, showers, and toilets, including facilities for the disabled and parents with toddlers.
There is a landing fee of £2.50 per seat and £1.00 per seat for overnight parking.

Tandem skydiving is a popular way to experience skydiving for the first time. During a tandem skydive, two people jump out of an aeroplane together, strapped to one another during the entire descent. The connecting straps ensure that one person is floating above the other during the freefall, with one person's back against the other's front. The instructor controls the entire jump, including body positions, movements, parachute deployment and control. You'll freefall for around 50 seconds before the parachute opens.

If you don't wish to choose a specific experience, you can always choose a cash amount to put on a voucher and let the recipient choose the experience they wish.
Terms and Conditions for Shotton Airfield Tandem Skydiving
Once you order a voucher, it will be dispatched by one of our agency partners by e-voucher or by post, depending on which you choose when you checkout.
Vouchers are valid until the expiry date shown on your Voucher (typically 10-12 months).
In most cases, once you activate your voucher you will be sent the instructions to redeem the voucher directly with the airfield or operator. Because flying experiences (other than simulators) can only take place in suitable/ safe weather conditions, you must be prepared to be flexible on your activity date. If the agent or operator cancels your experience date, they will inform you as soon as possible and do their very best to offer an alternative date or location. Once a specific date has been booked, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that the individual operator may have. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the descriptions contained on our products are a true reflection of the experience, these do not form part of a contract. If on contacting the operator you feel that the activity taking place no longer accurately represents the activity purchased, the relevant agent will exchange the voucher or refund the purchase price.
