Welcome to the Bell 206 Jet Ranger - a staple of Helicopter Flying across the world since 1966 when it first flew through the skies of Quebec, Canada. This twin engine mighty chopper has had various uses over the years, but was originally developed for the US Army Light Observation Helicopter Program. It’s more modern uses include air ambulance and corporate transport - and of course - Helicopter Rides and Lessons.

One of the reasons this helicopter is so widely used is because of its functional design which means it has a wide range of uses and is known for its reliability. With the capacity to seat up to five people including the pilot, with a spacious cabin, it’s no wonder its uses have stretched from emergency services to sightseeing.

It’s been so successful in the flying world, that the design and shape hasn’t really changed since its inception, and it even led onto the development of several other Bells, all modeled on the 206. Helicopter Lessons in the Bell 206 can be taken from Shobdon Aerodrome in Leominster which has a long history, dating back to playing a significant role in WW2. If you find yourself in the area, or are in nearby Wolverhampton, it’s well worth a trip for this fantastic lesson in a 206.
