Spitfire Planes Continue To Capture The Hearts Of Brits - News

  • FlyDays reveals its fastest-growing aviation adventure of 2023
  • Since its introduction in May, flying in a Spitfire has rapidly become one of the most popular flying experiences with Brits
  • Aviation enthusiasts get to experience victory rolls, as well as fly over key locations fought over during World War II

Our latest booking data here at FlyDays revealed that Brits are still in love with one of the country's most significant planes, with the chance to fly in a World War II Spitfire MKIX becoming its fastest-growing package in 2023.

Despite only being introduced in the late spring of this year, our Two Seater Spitfire Flight Heritage Hangar Visit experience has proven so popular with customers that its sales have already propelled the product into sixth place for the year's best sellers.

The experience gives fans of one of the country's most iconic planes a chance to fly a Supermarine Spitfire over Kent's 'Battle of Britain' countryside. During the day, participants also gain exclusive access to other Spitfire restoration projects and a Q and A session with the hangar team at Biggin Hill.

Dan Jones, operations manager at FlyDays.co.uk, said: "The legendary Spitfire is synonymous with Britain's hard-fought victory in World War II."

"During one of the darkest times of the war, this plane helped us turn the tide of the battle, and for that, it has always held an affinity with the British public."

"The chance to fly in one and complete victory roll manoeuvres is such a unique experience that not many alive can say they have done. I completely understand why it has proven to be such a hit since its launch."
